Our Springtime Process
It’s best to start preparing before spring fully arrives because you can reduce the amount of lawn care, tree care, and landscaping issues that accumulate over the course of the year. Here’s how we do it at Jersey Landscaping.
- When the ground is free of snow:
- Start scheduling maintenance contracts
- Ready all equipment and ensure everything is in 100% working condition
- Begin our landscape lighting jobs
- Once the ground thaws:
- Start our first Design/Build jobs
- Start our first Design/Build jobs
- First to second week of March
- First fertilizer application applied, along with bed pre-emergent, to help with the control of weeds.
- Second round of chemicals goes down 6 weeks after the first application, with another treatment of pre-emergent
- March to end of April
- Start spring landscape cleanup to ready your property for the growing season. Includes cleaning out all landscape beds, leaf cleanup, winter debris cleanup, and edging and weeding landscape beds.
- Start lawn cutting the first week of April
- Irrigation openings start at the end of April and are completed by the end of May. For openings we make sure the system is 100% operational and ensure the system has head to head coverage.
- Early May
- Install annuals (flowers) by Mothers Day
